About Zup!
Zup! is the original entry in Quiet River's long-running series of minimalist physics puzzles, the small project that launched what eventually became one of Steam's most prolific puzzle-series brands. The premise is austere: every level is a small 2D scene with a single goal, which is to keep the blue ball resting on a designated platform for the required duration by triggering explosions, falling objects, and chain reactions through the geometry.
Forty-plus levels make up the campaign, each one a self-contained physics experiment that asks you to identify the right starting point and let the simulation do the rest. The puzzles are clean, solvable through observation rather than reaction, and structured to reveal their solutions all at once when you finally see them. The game has no tutorial beyond a brief introduction, no story, no upgrade systems — just the puzzles and the satisfaction of making them work.
The series became somewhat famous for its absurdly generous achievement payouts, and this first entry ships with over a hundred Steam achievements alongside trading cards and emoticons. The engine is Clickteam Fusion 2.5, the design follows from an example by Sergio Andre, and the whole package is exactly as small as it needs to be to deliver its central experience. For players who already enjoy the genre, it's the cleanest possible expression of the formula; for newcomers, it's the right entry point before any of the later, more elaborate Zup! sequels.
