About Among Us
Among Us is the social-deduction party game that broke out of obscurity into one of the most recognized multiplayer experiences of its generation. Four to fifteen players share a spaceship that needs preparing for departure; most are Crewmates with maintenance tasks; one or more, drawn at random, are Impostors trying to kill the others without being identified.
The Crewmate loop is task-oriented: walk the ship, finish minigame tasks, watch the security cameras and admin map, report any body you find. The Impostor loop is performance: pretend to do tasks, slip through the vents to move quickly, sabotage systems to scatter the crew, kill someone in private and frame whoever was nearby. Emergency meetings and votes are where the game actually plays out — accusations, alibis, lies, eject.
Originally built for living-room play, Among Us is best played with voice chat between friends, though anonymous matchmaking with text chat works too. Cross-platform play covers PC, console, Android and iOS, with hosts and clients freely mixing platforms. Four maps ship in the base game: The Skeld, MIRA HQ, Polus and the Airship.
Customization (color, hat, visor, skin, pet) sits alongside heavy match settings — adjustable Impostor count, task lists, vision ranges, kill cooldowns and special roles. A separate Hide n Seek mode strips out the social deduction and runs as pure asymmetric pursuit. The premise is small, the variance per match is enormous, and most groups end up settling into house rules within a few games.
