About ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON
Armored Core VI returns to the franchise after a decade-long absence and folds in everything FromSoftware learned during the Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring years. The mech action is genuinely fast — boost dashes in three dimensions, hover engagement, ground sweeps, and aerial repositioning happen at speeds the older Armored Core entries couldn't render — but the boss design carries the studio's modern signature: multi-phase pattern-reading, telegraphed openings, and rewards for builds that match the encounter rather than brute-forcing through it.
Mech customization is the long-game system. Parts you bolt onto your AC change attacks, mobility profile, and battle style in ways that meaningfully alter strategy from mission to mission. Heavy biped vs. reverse-joint vs. tread vs. tetrapod isn't a cosmetic choice; each leg type rewrites how you fight.
The setting is the planet Rubicon 3, fifty years after a catastrophe sealed it off, where corporations and resistance groups fight over a newly resurfaced energy substance. You play an independent mercenary infiltrating the system, and the political alignments of each mission carry across the campaign into one of multiple endings.
