Blood Fresh Supply

Blood: Fresh Supply revives one of the last great Build-engine shooters of the late nineties, with Nightdive Studios rebuilding the original Monolith game on top of their KEX engine. You play Caleb, an undead gunslinger crawling out of his grave to settle accounts with the dark god Tchernobog and the cult that betrayed him. The tone is openly horror-pulp — Lovecraftian crypts, sycophantic cultists, hellhounds, gargoyles, zombies and the occasional pitchfork-wielding farmer who got in the way.

The arsenal escalates from a humble pitchfork to voodoo dolls, flare guns, aerosol-can flamethrowers and a double-barrelled shotgun that doubles as a melee weapon. Forty-two levels cover the original Blood plus both expansions, Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage. The remaster's upgrades sit quietly underneath: Vulkan, DirectX 11 and OpenGL renderers, uncapped framerates, antialiasing and ambient occlusion, support for 4K monitors, and an optional 3D camera mode if you'd rather not stick with the classic BUILD viewing angles.

The netcode was rewritten from scratch and now supports up to eight players online — co-op, the free-for-all Bloodbath and 4v4 Capture the Flag — alongside local split-screen. Modding support carries over from the original community, the existing mod catalogue mostly works out of the box, and you can still pipe the soundtrack from CD audio or MIDI if you want the period-correct atmosphere.
