Borderlands 3 hands you one of four new Vault Hunters and turns you loose on the Calypso Twins, fanatical streamers trying to unite the galaxy's bandit clans under their banner. Each Vault Hunter brings unique abilities and skill trees deep enough to support several distinct builds across a long campaign.

The gun design pushes the series further into absurdity. Self-propelling bullet shields, rifles that spit fire-spewing volcanoes, weapons that grow legs and chase down enemies while insulting them - the gear chase remains the loop's engine, with new behaviors arriving constantly.

The campaign breaks Pandora's monopoly on the franchise by visiting new planets, each with its own biomes, factions and enemies. Drop-in online co-op scales without forcing party members to match levels or progress, so friends at different points in the story can still share a session.
