About Bright Lights of Svetlov
Bright Lights of Svetlov is a short story-focused first-person adventure set in the mid-1980s Soviet Union. The setting is a fictional small industrial town somewhere in Russia, all panel housing, repetitive jobs, and the worn texture of daily life under late USSR.
The game is a linear narrative experience built around a single family's slow descent under harsh trials. You move through their apartment and the town around it, performing daily household routines — cooking, cleaning, errands — that gradually reveal the family members' personalities and circumstances.
There is no combat, no puzzle complexity, and no branching paths. The gameplay verb is presence: walking through these spaces, watching the lives within them, witnessing how mundane structures absorb personal tragedies. The atmosphere is the central craft.
Approximately 1.5 hours of playtime. Visually, the studio leans into the texture of period interiors — wallpaper, furniture, kitchenware, all rendered with attention to specific Soviet domestic detail. The game is aimed squarely at players interested in late-USSR slice-of-life storytelling, and it doesn't try to be anything else.
