Choice of Life: Middle Ages 2 puts you on the throne of a fantasy medieval kingdom and asks how long you can rule before getting yourself killed. The game is structured around cards: each card presents a decision, and your choice on each one ripples outward into the kingdom's stability, your relationships with companions, and the running tally of dangers that could end your reign.

The map spans the kingdom from the snowy northern forests to the endless southern fields. You explore each region by playing through cards that describe its inhabitants, threats, and opportunities. Faithful companions can be recruited along the way, traitors can be exposed and punished, and the question of who exactly counts as a friend or enemy stays open through most of the playthrough.

The storyline is non-linear, with hundreds of events branching across the campaign and 99 documented ways to die. The 2D art is colorful and stylized, with each card carrying its own illustration. Replays surface different events, so the path to becoming a great ruler — or perishing in the annals of history — varies meaningfully from session to session.
