About Deadnaut Signal Lost
Deadnaut: Signal Lost is a sci-fi horror turn-based roguelike where loyalty isn't earned, it's installed. As the Handler, you remotely control a single Deadnaut, a treasure hunter navigating hazardous settlements and drifting derelicts, confronting nightmarish creatures, haywire security systems and dangerous fanatics. But your Deadnaut is not your friend: you either gain their trust, pay them off, or fall back on the failsafe in their puppeting software.
The cosmos is tearing itself apart. Wrecks teem with interdimensional creatures, the dead roam the surfaces of moons, and technically advanced soldiers called Benefactors hunt you relentlessly to stop you reaching the Rip's source. You pick from five exosuits, Security, Energy, Tech, Sensor and Labour, each with expansive upgrade trees and dozens of unique skills, and customize your Deadnaut with weapons, sensors, shields, cloaks and hack tools.
Procedurally generated levels range from small scouts to massive multi-deck cryoships and spread-out settlements, all carried by an atmospheric soundtrack where listening can save your life. You build trust between Handler and Deadnaut based on performance, offering bribes when it drops or wiping their memory to puppet them outright. Lightweight meta progression through collectible Sigils, 180-plus upgrades with powerful synergies, and a character creator round out a traditional permadeath roguelike with on-the-run progression in the spirit of FTL and Slay the Spire.
