About Zorbus
Zorbus is a fantasy-themed, tile-based, turn-based traditional roguelike. Your goal is to delve deep into a dungeon and find a portal to a mythical place called the Zorbus, where a mere mortal can ascend to demigodhood. You can recruit other creatures along the way so you do not have to adventure alone.
As a roguelike, Zorbus generates the dungeon randomly, so every game differs, and permadeath means a dead character is gone for good, since saves are deleted on loading. There is no item identification or hunger mechanic. The dungeon aims to feel alive and eventful, with diversely shaped levels and themed content like throne rooms, prisons, and hidden treasure caches, all well connected.
The denizens act intelligently, fighting each other, fleeing when threatened, gathering allies, and using items, and they comment with speech bubbles. Dynamic lighting, light sources, and darkvision shape encounters. The rule system is influenced by the d20 system of third-edition Dungeons & Dragons, with races and experience levels but no classes, and point-buy skills and talents on each level up. Keybindings, display size, and tile graphics are all configurable.
