About Shattered Pixel Dungeon
Shattered Pixel Dungeon began in 2014 as a rebalancing project for Watabou's original Pixel Dungeon, and has grown over a decade into one of the most well-maintained traditional roguelikes in the genre. Six playable heroes — Warrior, Duelist, Mage, Cleric, Rogue, Huntress — each carry distinct mechanics, two subclasses, three endgame abilities, and over 25 talents to spend points on.
The dungeon is procedurally generated across 26 floors and five regions: sewers, prison, caves, fallen dwarven city, and what waits below. More than 300 items rotate through the catalog, including equipment with enchantments and upgrades, alchemy-crafted consumables, magical wands, rings, artifacts, and trinkets. Over 60 enemy types and 30 trap variants populate the floors, with 10 bosses gating progression between regions.
Nine stackable challenges and over 100 achievements give post-victory replayability. The game is open-source under the original Pixel Dungeon project, and Evan Debenham ships major content updates roughly every three months. Multiple language translations are community-driven. Interface modes adapt to phone, tablet, and desktop screens, with multiple input methods supported.
