About The Doors of Trithius
The Doors of Trithius combines classic roguelike difficulty with the freedom of an open-world RPG. Each playthrough generates a new world, new towns, new dungeons, and a new political landscape, and the game expects you to navigate it with skill rather than handholding.
The world is alive between adventures. Factions war for territory, regions shift in prosperity, towns generate new goods and quests, and you can join battles to influence outcomes. Wandering behemoths and ancient magic provide environmental threats outside the standard faction conflict.
Combat is tick-based rather than turn-based — turn priority depends on movement, weapon speed, and action speed, so tactical decisions about what you carry and how you move matter at the per-second level. 200+ combat abilities across 12 weapon skill types support genuinely different playstyles.
Outside combat, 14 non-combat skills (Medicine, Alchemy, Quartermastery, Athletics, Reading, others) level through use and a focus-point allocation system. Crafting is deep — food, potions, medicine, armor upgrades from salvaged materials, enchantments. 7 background choices and 30+ starting traits shape early character direction. Hundreds of items including in-game readable lore books extend the loot economy. Indie development, monthly updates, hand-drawn art with no AI generation.
