About Jupiter Hell
Jupiter Hell is a true turn-based roguelike — every action you take, the world takes one back, and death deletes the run. ChaosForge spent more than two decades building the original DoomRL (now called DRL), the turn-based reinterpretation of the 1993 shooter, and Jupiter Hell is the spiritual successor: same DNA, same arsenal-driven brutality, finally in 3D with proper lighting and CRT-stylized presentation.
The setup is barely there on purpose — you're a marine, Jupiter's moons are overrun by demonic monstrosities, and the way out is through. The weapons are the texture of the game: shotguns, chainguns, railguns, the trusty chainsaw, each one rewarding a specific positioning style. Levels are procedurally generated and seeded fresh every run, so the layouts that worked yesterday won't save you today. Perks unlock as you progress, opening up character builds that lean into specific weapon archetypes or movement tricks.
A heavy metal soundtrack runs underneath everything, which fits the game's whole aesthetic — 90s VHS sci-fi by way of modern lighting. Survive the base campaign and the game opens up tougher challenges; ChaosForge are upfront that none of it is meant to get easier.
