About Earn to Die 2
Earn to Die 2 takes the popular web-game series and rebuilds it from scratch as a full-fledged release rather than a port. The premise is consistent with the original — drive vehicles through a zombie apocalypse, smash through the undead, earn money to upgrade your ride, and use that upgraded vehicle to drive further through the next stage. The new release runs at full HD, locked 60fps, and offers a Story Mode ten times longer than the web versions.
The vehicle roster covers ten distinct rides ranging from sports cars and police cars to an ice cream van, each with its own handling profile and upgrade trees. Armored frames, roof-mounted guns, boosters, fuel tanks, wheel upgrades and engine modifications turn each vehicle from a basic mode of transport into a zombie-smashing machine progressively suited to the increasingly brutal road ahead. Destructible vehicles mean that careless driving has consequences — your ride can be smashed to pieces if you take too much damage, though it auto-repairs between drives.
The city setting introduces multi-tiered level design that the web versions couldn't accommodate. Highway overpasses, underground tunnels, factory floors and elevated roads all give the driving real variety, with the ragdoll physics on the zombies producing genuinely satisfying impacts. Players who complete Story Mode unlock Missions Mode for additional time-attack and objective-based challenges, and the epic zombie-filled factory levels are, as the developer puts it, very much worth mentioning.
