About Fish Game

Fish Game is a freshwater aquarium simulator built lovingly by fishkeeping enthusiasts for fellow enthusiasts, made with support from Destin and the team at Smarter Every Day. The pitch is the most thorough freshwater simulation available — over 130 fish species with distinct personalities and behavioral quirks, leading to infinite evolving relationships with complex hierarchies, paired with water quality modeling, propagating aquatic plants, and substrate sculpting depth most aquascaping sims don't attempt.

The fish behaviors run far deeper than typical. Schooling, chasing, fighting, and even carnivorous behavior are all modeled, with species-specific quirks producing emergent group dynamics across longer sessions. Comprehensive hunger and food systems use 11 different food types for herbivores, omnivores and carnivores, whether they're grazers, opportunists or predators. Simulated carbon dioxide, ammonia and oxygen levels have intricate relationships with your fish, plants, algae, light levels and the overall tank ecosystem — bad water chemistry kills, just like the real hobby.

The customization layer is equally generous. 50 species of propagating aquatic plants, over 50 types of rocks, driftwood and novelty hardscape (including setpieces from some of your favorite games), 25 types of fully sculptable substrate in various colors. An economy-free shopping experience focuses on discovering rare treasures rather than grinding for currency. A relaxing No Death Mode lets you put a living, breathing aquarium on your TV via Steam Link. Photo Mode supports great pictures and dolly shots for community contests. Future updates plan to add advanced water chemistry equipment, advanced plant needs, an aquadex, breeding with genetics and mutations, and constant content additions.
