Godsworn

Godsworn is a classic mythological real-time strategy game set during the Baltic Crusades, retelling that historical conflict as a fantasy clash between pagan gods and the armies of heaven. The wild pagan lands have been under the watchful eye of their gods for as long as time, but the arrival of a knight order bearing heaven's banner upsets the uneasy alliance. You take control of a divine hero, gather worshippers, rally great armies of mortals and mythical creatures, and prove yourself worthy to lead the realm.

The divine hero system is the game's core mechanical hook. Each hero comes with their own set of abilities, plus unique units and buildings on top of their faction's standard roster, producing significantly different playstyles. Protect your followers and burn enemies with the light of the sun as the goddess Saule. Strike under cover of darkness as the moon god Meness. Or join the order and smite the heathens as the archangel Michael. Heroes feel meaningfully different rather than reskinned.

The economy runs on devotion. Devoted followers flock to your shrine, gathering resources and building cities so you can raise armies for the battles ahead. Protecting them while they pray grants you Faith, a powerful resource used for summoning mythical creatures and casting god powers. The campaign — which can be played solo or with a friend in optional co-op — follows the Baltic pagan struggle against the crusades, asking whether you can bring unity to feuding pagan gods before the armies of heaven arrive, or whether the land will tear itself apart for your pride.
