Ground Control II Operation Exodus

Ground Control II: Operation Exodus is a real-time strategy game played with an action game's pace and energy. The year is 2741, and war engulfs the universe: the brutal Terran Empire has besieged the Northern Star Alliance, a coalition of colonies founded on freedom and democracy. Beaten in space, the NSA has fallen back to its final stronghold, and its only remaining hope rests on an ancient legend.

This is not a standard base-builder. There is no tech tree and no mineral harvesting, fresh units arrive by spending acquisition points that accumulate during battle, faster when your army is small and slower when it is large. You earn more by destroying enemies or seizing victory locations, and reinforcements drop in by dropship at landing zones you must hold. Those points can also upgrade the dropship's cargo, speed, fuel, armor and weapons.

The campaign runs 24 squad-based missions across two factions, leading infantry, tanks, artillery and aircraft, with the option to take command of the alien Viron army, fusing its troops into stronger units. Up to three players can take the campaign in co-op, and competitive multiplayer supports as many as eight players over ten maps, though, since Massgate has shut down, that is now LAN-only.
