METAL SLUG 3 is widely considered the high-water mark of SNK's run-and-gun action series, and decades after its arcade debut still draws fans worldwide for its intricate dot-pixel graphics, refined balance and intuitive controls. The Steam release brings the entire game to PC with online co-op support added on top of the original feature set, plus the convenience of modern saves and leaderboards.

The arcade mode runs the main mission as originally designed — five enormous, challenging stages featuring multiple branching paths through new areas, with a deluge of incoming fire and gigantic boss characters waiting at every chapter break. The Mission Mode lets you play unlocked stages individually for practice or training, alone or with a brother-in-arms. The Online Mission mode connects to Steam to clear missions cooperatively with friends across the world — find a fellow countryman or foreign ally and the mission begins.

The presentation work that earned the franchise its reputation remains intact. Hand-drawn pixel artwork at a level of frame-by-frame detail that very few games have ever matched, animation that brings every soldier, vehicle and boss to expressive life, and a soundtrack that exemplifies arcade-era SNK at its best. Configurable display, control and language settings, an unlockable gallery of original illustrations, and global leaderboards round out the package. The game will not run on Windows XP.
