About Mini Ghost
Mini Ghost is a deliberately small metroidvania built in the chunky 80s MSX visual style — limited palette, fixed-size rooms, restrained sound chip. The creator is the same solo developer behind Unepic and Ghost 1.0, and Mini Ghost frames itself as a mini-prequel to Ghost 1.0 rather than a full standalone follow-up.
The scope is honest about its size. Roughly two hours of gameplay across 100 rooms, four boss fights and 24 collectible or buyable items scattered through the world, with mini-comic interludes filling in the story. The metroidvania structure is intact — locked routes, ability gates, secrets stuffed into corners — just compressed into a tighter footprint than the genre's usual sprawl.
The more unusual feature is the trolling mode: when your friends on Steam are playing Mini Ghost, you can spectate their runs and actively interfere with them, shooting in items, emboldening their enemies, dropping fake platforms in their paths. On the constructive side, the game ships with three editors — for levels, character sprites, and tilesets — all of which feed straight into Steam Workshop, plus a speedrun leaderboard for players who want to compete the other way.
