About NavalArt
NavalArt is a sandbox game combining design, construction, physics and combat, offering players a layered experience across three roles — designer, engineer, and commander — as their fleets cross the ages of steel and nerve. The aspiration is to be the best naval sandbox game on PC, and the current build's depth across hull design, armament configuration, and battle simulation already makes a strong case.
The construction layer is genuinely deep. In the dock, you build warships from parts offered by the game or by the mod community, with careful placement and adjustment shaping everything from overall hull geometry down to tiny anchor chains. Each design property matters — different armor and weapon layouts have meaningfully different effects, and trial runs of unfinished or newly finished ships let you test whether your design works before deploying it. Real-time physics calculation extends to the waves, water behavior, and the response of damaged components.
The combat layer covers Campaigns and Quick Battle Modes, with naval engagements demanding aggressive but careful use of torpedoes, armor-piercing shells and other historical weapons. Anti-air weapon systems including the Phalanx CIWS defend against air strike waves. Gallery Mode lets you walk around your ships as a fellow sailor, line up your fleet, and enjoy the parade from your flagship. The sandbox supports submarine mechanics, modern weapons including missiles, day-night cycles, and various sea conditions. Steam Workshop integration provides thousands of community-shared warship designs and mods, with Steam-based multiplayer battles closing out the current feature list. Aircraft carriers, historical encounters and a mission editor are planned for future updates.
