About Planet Coaster
Planet Coaster is Frontier Developments' spiritual successor to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, scaled up with piece-by-piece construction and over a thousand building components. You design coasters from individual track sections, build scenery brick by brick, lay paths along the contours of land you sculpt to taste — raised mountains, dug caverns, sky-islands above the rest of the park.
The simulation drives the management half. Every guest is an expressive individual with their own interests, boredom thresholds, and tolerance for the queue lengths you've built. Statistic screens track everything from ride popularity to staff efficiency, and tweaking prices, salaries, and loan timing decides whether your park grows or hemorrhages cash.
Steam Workshop turned the community into a content engine. Players share coasters, buildings, and entire parks; Frontier curates the best, and you can drop any of it into your own park with a click. The campaign scenarios test your skills against escalating constraints, and free-build mode lets you ignore the management layer entirely if all you want to do is design rides.
