About Roguebook
Roguebook is set inside the Book of Lore of Faeria, a relic that, through contact with a source of magic, developed a wicked free will of its own and became the Roguebook. You are trapped within it, and each page is a new challenge. Developed in partnership with Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering, it is a roguelike deckbuilder built around leading two heroes to victory.
You choose 2 heroes from 6 pairs, each with a collection of over 50 cards, a personal relic and a unique skill tree. The hero at the front protects the one at the back, so switching their positions and combining their strengths is how you unleash powerful combos in strategic battles against more than 40 bosses and enemies. Dynamic deckbuilding draws on over 200 cards assembled as you play, so you never run the same deck twice, while 30 gems upgrade your cards and 80 relics add extraordinary effects.
The Book changes each time you open it, with procedurally generated maps, mysteries and dangers. Its pages are made of hexagonal tiles, and you use magic inks that reveal different patterns to fully explore each one, encountering merchants, travellers, ruins, quests and the occasional trap. A run averages around 20 hours, unlocking everything takes hundreds, and 20 difficulty levels add tougher enemies along with new relics, gems and encounters.
