Shank

Shank is Klei Entertainment's earliest action title, a 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up that swaps stick-figure brawler conventions for inked, hand-animated graphic-novel art directed by Jeff Agala. The protagonist hunts the crime families that destroyed his life, and the levels read like exploitation-cinema set pieces: a strip club, a meatpacking plant, a desert outpost, a final mansion.

Combat strings melee weapons (machete, chainsaw, katana), heavy guns and grapples into juggle-friendly combos. Cycling weapons mid-string keeps damage flowing, and over eight boss fights anchor the campaign, each with its own move list and arena.

A separate two-player local co-op campaign covers the prequel period before Shank went solo, pairing him with his old partner Falcone against a different roster of enemies. The Steam version arrived after the console release with retuned controls and balance based on player feedback.
