Skater XL - The Ultimate Skateboarding Game

Skater XL pitches itself as the evolution of skateboarding gameplay. The Independent Foot Control System ties each thumbstick directly to the corresponding foot of the skater. No pre-programmed tricks exist; everything emerges from how you move the sticks. The result feels less like punching button combos and more like playing an instrument, with each push, flick, and shift translating into board response.

Levels are inspired by real-world skate areas and designed to ensure constant flow. DTLA covers landmarks around the Staples Center and LA Convention Center, Easy Day High School includes iconic spots like the Wallenberg Big 4 and the Leap of Faith, the Big Ramp lets you soar absurdly high, and community-created maps including Grant Park, Hudland, and Streets extend the rotation.

Real-life pros Tiago Lemos, Brandon Westgate, Evan Smith, and Tom Asta are playable with their own gear. Custom skaters use gear from over 30 real skate brands including Vans, Santa Cruz, DC Shoes, Independent, and Lakai. Multiplayer Free Skate links groups up to 10 players, hundreds of trick challenges progress your bag, and the soundtrack pulls Modest Mouse, Getter, Interpol, Animal Collective, Future Islands, and Band Of Horses. Requires a controller (no keyboard controls).
