About Splasher
Splasher is a precision 2D platformer about a young hero with a paint cannon, fighting through the gigantic Inkorp factory to save the captive workforce — the Splashers — from Le Docteur, the factory's villainous boss. The gameplay backbone is built around the paint colors: yellow paint sticks to walls and ceilings so you can climb anywhere, red paint sends you bouncing high off any surface, and other colors mess with enemies or transform the environment in ways that turn the level itself into a puzzle.
Death is cheap and respawns are immediate, which is the design choice that makes everything else work. Levels are dense with traps and security devices that demand exact movement, and the game expects you to learn the route through trial and error. A time-attack mode with global leaderboards adds the speedrun layer the game was explicitly built to support — the developers worked with speedrunners during production to ensure the routing rewarded skill.
The project comes from Romain Claude, former game and level designer on Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends at Ubisoft, working with a small team that includes art director Richard 'Gromy' Vatinel and composer Aymeric Schwartz (Absolver, Rayman Origins, Valiant Hearts). The pedigree shows in the moment-to-moment feel — controls tight enough that every miss feels like your fault rather than the game's.
