Starstruck Vagabond

Starstruck Vagabond takes the comfortable rhythm of a Stardew Valley-style life sim and moves it into orbit, swapping farming for ship upkeep and cargo runs. After accidentally freezing themselves for two millennia, the protagonist wakes in an unfamiliar galaxy with nothing but a battered transport ship, and starts earning a living by ferrying crates between star systems.

The galaxy soon turns out to have bigger problems. A purple egg the size of four star systems has appeared at its center, egg-like creatures are spreading terror, and the rival powers Amalgam and Oniris cannot cooperate enough to stop them, so they lean on the very captain who keeps stumbling into the middle of everything. The four quadrants open one at a time as the story advances.

Between delivery jobs there is always something to do: surveying planets, cleaning buildings, answering distress calls, salvaging derelicts and clearing alien pests. Hidden Upgrade Units trade in for faster engines and bigger cargo platforms, and repaint shops let you restyle the ship. Up to five of nine possible crew members can join in a single run, each with a personal storyline, so a second playthrough tells different stories. An original soundtrack comes from Sam Houghton and Joe Collinson.
