About Tomb Raider II (1997)
Tomb Raider II is the second installment in the Tomb Raider series, sending Lara Croft around the globe to recover a precious artifact before it falls into the wrong hands. That artifact is the legendary Dagger of Xian, said to grant its possessor the power of a fire-breathing dragon, a weapon once used by Chinese emperors to command their armies.
Lara soon learns that a powerful Venetian crime lord is hunting the same dagger, and she must do everything in her power to keep it out of his hands. The hunt traces the legend from the Great Wall outward across the world.
Most of the game is spent traversing hazardous 3D levels using Lara's athletic skills and solving environmental puzzles, but this sequel leans harder into combat, adding many human foes alongside the wildlife. New weapons widen the arsenal, including a harpoon gun, a grenade launcher and an M16 rifle, with automatic pistols replacing the original game's magnums.
