About Shadow Man Remastered
Shadow Man Remastered is Nightdive's complete overhaul of the 1999 Acclaim horror-action game, restoring three previously cut levels — Summer Camp Florida (day and night), Salvage Yard Mojave Desert (day and night), and Asylum Station 2 Experimentation Rooms. Original composer Tim Haywood returned to remaster the music and SFX and produce new compositions for the restored levels.
The visual upgrade includes HD textures for everything in the game, dynamic per-pixel lighting, clustered forward shadow mapping, order-independent transparency, and new post-processing effects (ambient occlusion, antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, motion blur, film grain, depth of field). You can toggle between the original and high-resolution textures. 4K support runs at 240Hz refresh rate.
Gameplay improvements add a quick-select weapon wheel that slows time, auto-targeting, tweaked AI, and a slate of fixes across every level. New enemies (Yort, Yort Floater, Seraph Queen, Seraph, Dead Worm, restored zombies and tenement variants) and new weapons (a second Violator consistent with the N64 version, a sawed-off shotgun, expanded sound variations for the Shadow Gun) round out the package. Over 30 achievements ship with the release.
