About Submerged Hidden Depths
Submerged: Hidden Depths is Uppercut Games' relaxploration sequel set in the sunken ruins of a beautiful drowned world. Skyscraper tips poke above the waves, deserted villages now host enigmatic creatures, and an anguished angry presence waits beneath the ocean. You take on the roles of siblings Miku and Taku: she's cursed with a mysterious power she wants to use for good, he's determined not to let it tear them apart.
Gameplay is entirely non-combat. You boat across tranquil waters and storm-driven whitecaps, climb crumbling skyscraper interiors and rooftops, interact with the remnants of a once-towering city. Mysterious relics need collecting, and seeds of salvation can be scoured from the buildings. The exploration is meditative rather than puzzle-dense, with the world's geography and story doing most of the work.
The visual presentation leans into stark beauty: ruined architecture overgrown with vegetation, sea creatures riding the boat's wake, dramatic weather shifts. The sibling relationship anchors the narrative, with their dialogue and dynamic gradually revealing the broader story behind the world's flooding.
