Super House of Dead Ninjas

Super House of Dead Ninjas is an action-arcade roguelite about descending a tower at speed. Every floor is randomly generated, every floor is full of enemies and hazards, and you have thirty seconds to clear it before the timer kills you. Slay enemies to refill the clock. Find better weapons and items as you go. Reach the bottom if you can.

You play the Crimson Ninja, equipped with a katana, a small armory of shuriken, bombs, and an expanding set of unlockable weapons that includes a flamethrower and a baseball bat — many of which appear here for the first time, beyond the original Flash game. Movement is fast, attacks are precise, and the tower's enemies range from straightforward swordfighters through eight terrifying bosses, 52 distinct enemy types, and at least one deadly exploding mushroom.

This Steam edition is bigger than the original Flash version it grew out of. Two hundred and thirty custom rooms make up the procedural floor pool, one hundred of them new to this release. The new Transdimensional Leakage tower offers a bizarre alternate descent. Three new enemy types and hazards join the rotation, ten additional Steam achievements track completion, and leaderboard support lets you compare runs against everyone else.

Upgraded music and sound effects run on the Ninjinity Engine — yes, that's its actual name — and native controller support sits alongside keyboard input. A map editor ships in the box, with Steamworks integration for sharing your designs, and ninja customization across colors and outfits provides thousands of cosmetic combinations. The whole package is the definitive version of the Flash original.
