Backrooms: Lost Tape is an immersive horror walking simulator that drops you into the unsettling world of the Backrooms. The story is split into Tapes, each a chapter that opens new liminal spaces, levels, and mysteries.

In The Tape of Josh, you play a cinema usher who falls into the Backrooms and must unravel the secrets of the strange yellow rooms to escape, while malevolent entities stand in your way. The Tape of Nikolas follows an intense mission to find the vanished Josh, deepening the haunting story with new challenges. Further Tapes arrive as DLC.

The game leans on photorealistic next-gen graphics and fully immersive, HUD-free play, mixing multiple levels and liminal spaces with puzzles, entities, and an intriguing story full of mysteries to uncover.
