This Is the Police

This Is the Police casts you as Jack Boyd, the gritty police chief of Freeburg, a city circling the drain. The premise is blunt: Jack has 180 days before forced retirement, and he means to walk away with $500,000 by any means he can find. How he gets there, honest or otherwise, is left entirely to you.

Managing the department is the daily grind. You assign and oversee officers, respond to emergencies, and investigate crimes while the mafia tightens its grip on Freeburg and the mayor looks to twist every situation into political advantage. Each situation demands a call: handle a crisis at a crime scene, negotiate with crime bosses, dodge reporters in the press room, or hold up under cross-examination on the witness stand.

The game is built around a dark story and how you react to it. Competing powers all offer favors, and each favor carries a price. Your choices steer both the plot and the fate of Jack Boyd himself, in a fully voiced narrative with Jack played by Jon St. John, the voice of Duke Nukem.
