About Tormentum - Dark Sorrow
Tormentum is the kind of adventure game whose primary asset is the painting. Each of the 75 hand-painted stages, plus more than a hundred additional screens, is composed in the visual language of H. R. Giger's biomechanical horror and Zdzisław Beksiński's necropolitan landscapes. OhNoo Studio built a world where the architecture is bone, flesh, and rust in roughly equal proportion.
The story follows a hooded protagonist arriving by airship at a gloomy castle that becomes his prison. From there the journey crosses three realms of distinct architecture and creatures, encountering characters who alternately help and impede him. Twenty-four logical puzzles and minigames pace the exploration, with mechanics that lean toward sliding tiles, pattern recognition, and inventory recombination.
Moral choices shape which of multiple endings you reach — the game watches what you do to characters who don't have the power to fight back, and the cathedral's mad painter is keeping notes. A soundtrack of more than 40 tracks underscores the four to six hours of campaign, and the entire game is built around the question of whether the dream is metaphor or destination.
