Tropico 3

Tropico 3 puts you in charge of a remote Caribbean island during the Cold War era as El Presidente, a tropical dictator with full authority over economy, politics, foreign relations and the well-being of every citizen. The tone is tongue-in-cheek throughout, playing third-world politics, corruption and totalitarianism for both satire and management depth.

The gameplay layers city-building, resource management and social simulation. Build industries, tourist infrastructure, military and intelligence apparatus. Charm, persuade, intimidate, oppress or cheat your people to stay in power. Make election promises, slander political adversaries, rig votes if needed. Each Tropican has simulated life, family and political views that respond to your decisions.

The Cold War backdrop is the strategic playground. Play the USA and USSR superpowers against each other for aid, weapons or political cover, while building either a tourist paradise or an industrial power. The customizable Avatar (El Presidente) can be sent around the island to congratulate citizens, sun-bathe, or visit other players' islands. 15-mission campaign, random map generator, timeline editor, election speeches, vehicles and roads, and the Steam Special Edition's two extra maps and avatar costumes complete the package.
