About Tropico 4
Tropico 4 returns El Presidente to the head of the small Caribbean nation that defined the series, with new geopolitical pressures, new superpowers to negotiate with, and a Council of Ministers system that lets you appoint citizens to government positions to push through controversial policies. The world is shifting around Tropico, and your decisions shape both the nation's path and the size of the offshore bank account you're quietly accumulating.
Twenty missions across ten new maps form the campaign, plus the expected sandbox modes. Twenty new buildings — including a Stock Exchange, a shopping mall, an aqua park, and a mausoleum to El Presidente himself — extend the construction palette. The National Agenda system delivers objectives from Tropican factions, foreign powers, or events tied to current island circumstances, including six new interactive disasters: volcanoes, droughts, tornadoes, and others.
The trade system handles imports and exports to and from rival nations, opening up economic dependencies and leverage opportunities. The politics underneath the management layer is the heart of the series — every faction has its own demands, every superpower its own agenda, and your job is to balance them while keeping your office and your wealth intact.
