Wall World

Wall World is built on a vertical structure that almost no other game shares. You operate a giant robospider that climbs a procedurally generated wall, and the gameplay alternates between two phases: descending into mine shafts you carve laterally off the spider's position to gather resources and technologies, and defending the spider against waves of monsters that attack between mining runs.

The spider is your mobile base. You break camp instantly when monsters appear and continue the fight wherever you are — no need to retreat to a fixed position. Resources upgrade your exosuit for faster mining and stronger drilling, while parallel upgrades to the spider improve its combat stats against the escalating threat. Blueprints for automatic turrets, repair stations, and resource harvesters wait deeper in the wall.

Alawar's design rotates through fantastical biomes as the spider climbs higher or lower, with day-night cycles and changing weather conditions giving each section a distinct visual identity. The traces of "the others" — a previous civilization that mined this wall before — give the campaign its long-arc mystery. Each run reveals more of the wall's purpose.
