Tangle Tower

Tangle Tower is a point-and-click mystery from SFB Games, the British studio behind Snipperclips, and trades that game's cooperative paper-cutting for a single-player murder investigation. Freya Fellow has been killed inside the eccentric Tangle Tower mansion, the lead suspect is a shadowy figure caught looming over her body with a knife, and the problem — as the detective on scene notes early — is that the suspect appears to exist only inside a painting.

You work the case as a pair of detectives, with the partner banter providing both comedic counterweight and gentle hints when the player misses something. Investigation unfolds across the entirety of the mansion, from the eerie overgrown gardens at the perimeter to the cold ominous crime scene at the very top, with rooms layered between that each contain their own characters, clues and small puzzles. The full cast is voice-acted and animated, with deliberately stylised character designs that make every suspect memorable even after a single interrogation.

The puzzles are structured as logical chains rather than abstract challenges, with each clue feeding into the broader case and several distinctive set-piece deductions that pull together evidence the player has already gathered. The original orchestral score sustains the atmosphere through long stretches of conversation, the digitally painted environments give the mansion a coherent visual identity across every wing, and an unlockable concept art gallery opens up after the credits to reveal the production work behind every character, clue and location.
