About Wandersong

Wandersong is a musical platforming adventure from solo developer A Shell in the Pit Records / Greg Lobanov about a silly bard whose only tool for interacting with the world is his voice. The setup is openly mythic: the goddess Eya, who put the universe into motion eons ago with her music, is preparing to sing a new song and reset existence. A lowly bard, blissfully unsuited to the role, is tasked with finding the pieces of a mysterious melody called the Earthsong — said to be capable of preserving the planet — before that happens.

The central mechanic is singing. You face a color wheel of notes that you select with the right stick or mouse, and the resulting sounds affect the environment in different ways: characters respond, puzzles unlock, doors open, plants grow, enemies are calmed or scattered. There's no combat in the traditional sense — your voice is your only tool, and the world has been built to respond to it as a primary verb. Walking, jumping, climbing and exploration cover the rest of the platforming surface.

The campaign runs 10-12 hours and threads the player through more than 150 distinct characters, each of whom can be helped, befriended, or — at the player's whim — endlessly serenaded with the bard's singing whether they want it or not. A dedicated DANCE BUTTON lets you dance anytime, anywhere. The writing is whimsical without being weightless, the emotional centre of the story leans into questions about purpose, ego and what kindness costs, and the entire game is fully accessible to colour-blind and deaf players through dedicated accessibility design.
