Wantless Solace at World's End

Wantless is a dystopian science-fiction tactical RPG in which you play Eiris, one of the last Transposers, doctors who can descend into a patient's tortured mind to ease its torments, erase memories, or do more still. The fight never happens on a battlefield; it takes place within the subconscious of the patients themselves.

Combat is fast and unforgiving. You begin each turn with 8 action points, but spending one hands a point to every enemy, so the more you act, the harder they react, though eliminating foes returns action points and can swing a turn wildly either way. The manifestations lurking in these minds have countless ways to kill you, making the terrain crucial: placed explosives and toxic pools are tools as much as hazards. Protect the memories that matter and keep instability in check, or the creatures grow stronger and the map itself can shift.

Between fights you spend synapses collected on runs to craft your own skills, tuning effects, shapes, costs and cooldowns, with more than 100 synapses available to combine damage, ailments, buffs and utility into custom combos. The Mind Tree adds over 170 perks, where the strongest nodes carry the steepest drawbacks. Most patients are randomly generated for near-endless variety, while unique special patients bring their own stories, twists and enemies to push your build to its limit.
