Welcome to the Game II

Welcome to the Game II is an atmospheric horror, strategy and puzzle game that drops you into the deep web in search of something deeper still, the shadow web. You play investigative reporter Clint Edwards, who wakes to a link on his computer: a stream of a terrified woman named Amalea, who speaks of the shadow web and of masked men hunting her before the feed cuts out. Finding her before it is too late means digging where the deep web does not welcome curiosity.

The game runs on a simulated computer operating system, complete with a web browser, note-taking software and a marketplace for tools. Your task is to track down eight hidden hashes scattered across deep web pages, found by clicking carefully, reading page source, or uncovering buried files, and use them to decrypt the shadow web browser.

Staying alive while you search is its own challenge. You hack neighbors' Wi-Fi to avoid being traced by police, fend off other hackers through minigames before they steal your data and currency, and earn DOSCoin to order gear like Wi-Fi boosters and motion sensors. All of it plays out across your city apartment building, where you physically move around to reposition equipment and reach drop-off points while the deep web's worst hunt for you.
