Wreckfest

Wreckfest is Bugbear's spiritual successor to FlatOut 1 and 2, built around soft-body damage modeling. Every panel deforms, every crash propagates physically through the chassis, and matches stack up genuine moments of metal bending that make highlight reels write themselves. The simulation isn't just visual: damage actually affects handling and survivability.

Car customization splits two ways. Reinforced bumpers, roll cages and side protectors armor up for demolition derbies but add weight that ruins handling. Performance upgrades (air filters, camshafts, fuel systems, suspension) turn cars into either lightweight rockets or armored tanks. The roster covers old American heavy-hitters, agile Europeans, fun Asian compacts, and on through ridiculous side vehicles.

Game modes include traditional circuit races, banger races on circuits with intersections and oncoming traffic, derby arenas with no checkered flag, and challenge modes featuring lawn mowers, school buses, three-wheelers and crop harvesters. Career mode tracks championships and unlocks. Multiplayer is dedicated, and Steam Workshop hosts monster trucks, moon-high tracks and classic destruction-genre conversions.
