About 6180 the moon
6180 the moon is a platformer with a unique screen-wrapping mechanic. The top and bottom of the screen connect to each other, so jumps that go off the top emerge from the bottom and vice versa. This creates a movement style where falling off the bottom of the screen isn't a death state but a wraparound, and high jumps from the top of the screen come down on the same path you launched from.
The storyline follows the Moon on a journey to find the missing Sun. Hazardous courses across the world deliver platforming challenges with the wraparound mechanic always influencing approach. Long jumps become viable in ways no traditional platformer allows, and level design plays heavily with the spatial loop to create puzzle-like routing problems.
Developed by South Korean indie studios Turtle Cream and PokPoong Games, with music by Merry Go Sound. The presentation runs minimalist and atmospheric, with deep realizations about loneliness, purpose and pursuit accompanying the gameplay. Short, focused, and built around one mechanical idea executed thoroughly across its runtime.
