A Perfect Day

A Perfect Day is a narrative puzzle adventure that returns to the closing hours of China's last day before the year 2000. You play a sixth-grade student greeting classmates, exploring secrets, racing mini 4WD cars or simply wandering around town. Unlike a time-loop story such as Groundhog Day, the day repeats without any memories carried over from previous loops.

You explore the secrets of the people around you, map out how you spend each day and settle on your own choices, bidding farewell to old regrets, fulfilling everyone's dreams and welcoming the new century with fireworks. Four main stories interweave in a narrative network and cross within an endless loop, alongside many side stories: the growing pains of friends, the confusion of teenage love, coping with a father's temper.

A cast of characters waits to be followed and understood, the bespectacled know-it-all, the trend-chasing rich kid, the Study Rep you secretly like, a neighbor granny who seems to sense something unusual in you, the homeless man fixated on aliens. Rendered in a crayon hand-painted style, the game captures the Chinese lifestyle of the late 1990s, with mini games like mini 4WD races, a Gamicom console and the arcade that can even unlock hidden stories.
