About Asura Vengeance Edition

Asura is an indie top-down hack-and-slash game set in a fantasy world inspired by the richness of Indian mythology. It features heavy roguelike elements and a unique procedural skill tree that changes every time you play. Reincarnated as a demon, you use your newfound powers and hatred to invade the Pancha Dvora, the five fortresses of the Daeva empire, on a journey of vengeance against Hasirama, the God-King and Slayer of Innocents.

The game is brutally difficult but fair. You craft your demon using the procedural Shastra tree of over 80 skills, choose to either absorb enemies for experience or scavenge their corpses for loot, and engage foes with a unique combat system of melee, ranged and magic weapons governed by a stamina system. Every item is unique, with tons of synergistic loot to discover, and brutal mechanics mean fire destroys a random piece of equipment, poison blocks healing, and death loses all progress through permadeath.

The free Vengeance Edition update adds an endless Vengeance Mode against the Daeva hordes, a Chakra system of boss-unlocked perks, the hardcore Mahasura difficulty, the Shamshan crypt for saving your demon, and new items and rooms. The game spans four enemy races, 12 bosses, nine champions, 50 unique enemies and five randomly generated fortresses, all built on lore inspired by Indian mythology, and it is best experienced with a controller. It was made by Ogre Head Studio in Hyderabad, India.
