Atomicrops

Atomicrops splits its gameplay between two distinct halves: daytime farming and nighttime combat. By day you sow, water, fertilize, and harvest mutated crops as quickly as you can to maximize profit before the day ends. By night you defend your homestead from waves of mutants, bandits, and worse with a fully automatic weapon, holding ground until dawn.

The town between fields is the secondary economy. You can purchase weapons and items at end-of-day shops, court and marry a townsperson who fights and farms alongside you, recruit pig pals, chicken chums, and cow colleagues to automate farming chores, and unlock cats who permanently roam your farm and accept pets. Permanent upgrades persist across runs, so each death contributes to the next attempt.

The seasons structure the campaign. Each ends with a boss fight; together they lead up to the final Nuclear Winter season at the top of the difficulty curve. Explore far reaches of the biomes for relics of farms long past — powerful items that buff farming speed or combat capability. The genre intersection is the entire pitch: shoot to till, marry to fight, harvest to live.
