Bilkins' Folly

Bilkins' Folly is a narrative adventure following Percival Bilkins, a young treasure hunter on a mission to find his missing mother and grandfather who disappeared mysteriously years ago. His ship wrecked in a storm at the game's opening, so he must find a new way forward with the help of his beloved family dog Drayton. Recruit a new crew, sail unusual islands, dig for buried treasure, and uncover the foreboding family secret beneath it all.

The gameplay centers on team work between Percy and Drayton. As your bond with the dog grows through quality time together, you level up and earn points for new skills that help clear obstacles. The dog learns specific new abilities that unlock previously inaccessible puzzles, similar to a Metroidvania progression structure.

A customizable map is the second mechanical pillar. Percy's cartography skills let you draw lines, place icons and mark spots to help solve puzzles. Some puzzles require returning later in the journey when you've gained the right tools or knowledge. Fishing for sea creatures, treasure hunting competitions, lock picking, sheep herding and other minigames fill the side content. Yes, you can pet the dog.
