BIT.TRIP RUNNER

BIT.TRIP RUNNER is a retro-inspired rhythm platformer and the game that launched the acclaimed Runner series. You race constantly forward, kicking down walls, jumping and sliding past obstacles in time with the soundtrack, from the surface of the Moon through robotic mines and a big city.

The controls are simple enough for anyone to pick up, but mastering the game demands skill, precise timing and a deep connection to the music. That blend of accessible inputs and demanding, music-locked gameplay, wrapped in pixel art that pays homage to classic gaming, is what sets it apart.

At the 2011 Independent Games Festival, BIT.TRIP RUNNER won the Excellence in Visual Art award and earned honorable mentions for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize and the Excellence in Audio award.
