About Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun and Firestorm
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun and Firestorm bundles Westwood Studios' 1999 RTS and its 2000 expansion. The Second Tiberium War sees Kane's Brotherhood of Nod return at full strength against the Global Defense Initiative, with the player choosing a side and orchestrating mankind's fate.
This was the entry that brought the series fully into 3D unit modelling on a 2D isometric battlefield, with destructible and deformable terrain, forest fires, treacherous ice that could give way under tanks, and a Veterancy system that improved units as they survived encounters. Jump Jet Infantry, Hover Tanks, Tunneling APCs, Hunter Seekers, Mechanized Battle Units, and Laser Fences are all here.
The presentation leans hard into Westwood's signature FMV cutscenes, including James Earl Jones as GDI's General James Solomon and Joseph D. Kucan as Kane. Covert night missions, dynamic searchlights, and dramatic environmental events define the campaign's atmosphere.
Firestorm is the official expansion, adding new campaign missions, units (including the cyborg commando battles), and the divergent storylines that decide humanity's fate. This is the same content that was released free on EA's site years ago, now packaged on Steam with modern Windows compatibility.
