About DEAD RISING
DEAD RISING casts you as Frank West, a freelance photojournalist hunting the scoop of a lifetime, who pursues a juicy lead to a small suburban town and finds it overrun by zombies. The local Willamette Mall becomes both refuge and battleground, with Frank having 72 in-game hours to survive, investigate the outbreak's source and rescue trapped survivors.
The mall is the central mechanical hook. Anything inside can be used as a weapon: golf clubs, lawnmowers, fry pans, table umbrellas, mall benches, vehicles. Different stores stock different supplies, and food can be eaten to recover health. Frank's photojournalism skills feed a separate progression layer: capture the insanity on film for rewards proportional to shot quality.
The real-time clock continues whether Frank is acting or stationary, so missing key story events because you took too long happens regularly. Zombies become stronger and faster at night. The PC version adds 4K resolution support, uncapped frame rates with G-SYNC compatibility, native controller support for Xbox and PS4 pads, five save slots, customizable keyboard/mouse bindings, and resolution settings beyond what the original Xbox 360 release supported.
