About Epistory - Typing Chronicles

Epistory: Typing Chronicles is an action-adventure game built entirely around the keyboard. You play the muse of a writer struggling for inspiration, and every action in the game — from movement and chest opening to combat and even menu navigation — is performed by typing. The framing device sends you riding a giant three-tailed fox through an origami fantasy world that exists inside the writer's mind, gradually unfolding the book she's trying to write as you explore.

The paper-craft visual style is the game's signature look: an entire world built from origami forms, with environments that literally unfold around the muse as she moves through them. Movement happens by typing directional words, combat by typing the words floating above incoming insect-like enemies, puzzles by typing words associated with objects and environmental cues. The faster and more accurately you type, the more capable the muse becomes, and an adaptive difficulty system tunes the experience to whichever skill level you bring to it.

The game supports multiple keyboard layouts — QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY, BEPO, Dvorak, Workman and Colemak — and is localised across English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Polish, with English voice-over. Beyond the main story, a competitive Arena Mode pits players against each other on leaderboards for high-score chasing. The game balances educational utility with genuine adventure storytelling: you can use it to improve typing speed, but the underlying narrative — about writer's block, inspiration and the relationship between artist and muse — is built to hold up on its own terms.
