Faeland

Faeland is an adventure RPG inspired by 8-bit classics, expanded into a contemporary enhanced-16-bit visual style with wide color palettes, widescreen resolutions and fluid pixel animations. The story follows a young hunter forced from a secluded forest home after a horde of trolls and orcs raid the village, on a journey through forests, caves, dungeons and castles toward becoming the hero destiny demands.

Combat is heavily influenced by weapon choice. Knives, daggers, swords, axes, spears and bows each have different attack animations, speeds, strengths and effects, so your combat identity shifts based on equipped weapon rather than fixed class. Skill scrolls acquired through exploration or quest rewards unlock new abilities throughout the journey.

The world is openly explorable, with towns hosting NPCs who share lore, useful tips and trade. The narrative gradually reveals a greater threat looming over the realm, and player choices and actions shape the fate of those who call the land home. New abilities and special items unlock access to previously inaccessible areas, encouraging revisits to earlier zones for hidden secrets. Detailed pixel art and rich customization (tunics, shields, gadgets, mythical tools) carry the visual identity.
